Alex is a serial web entrepreneur with more than 27 years experience in the digital space, building and developing tech businesses. In the late 1990s, he pioneered Webcity, the web-based interactive tourism guide. After co-founding Winamax (the largest French online poker room) and Chilipoker in 2006, the underpinning technology platform was sold to Bally Technologies (now Scientific Games).

In 2012, he formed Mediarex Sports & Entertainment, and in 2013 acquired the Global Poker Index (live Poker’s leading ranking authority) as well as The Hendon Mob (the largest live poker database in the world). Chiliz was formed in 2018, when the official whitepaper was published, with the mission of becoming the global blockchain leader for Web3 sports and entertainment. In the same year and as part of the project, Socios.com was launched, the world’s first Fan Token powered, fan engagement and rewards platform.

By mid 2018, $66 million had been raised through private placement and Socios.com - the world’s first fan engagement and rewards platform for sports organisations - was born.

Paris Saint Germain and Juventus quickly became the first partners, creating a global presence and profile for the Socios.com brand from the start.

Today, Socios.com is an official partner to over 160+ organisations across nine sport verticals and 25 different countries. Major sporting organisations, including the likes of FC Barcelona, Juventus, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Valencia CF, Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, Inter Milan, Arsenal, Flamengo, Corinthians, River Plate and the national teams of Italy, Portugal and Argentina have launched their official Fan Tokens on Socios.com.

So have mixed martial arts (MMA) brands UFC and PFL, the Davis Cup, leading Formula 1 teams, esports clubs and many more. Other Socios.com partners include LaLiga, Lega Serie A, UEFA and nearly 70 NBA, NFL, NHL and MLS franchises.

In late 2022, Chiliz announced the launch of Gameused.com, a new, end to end memorabilia authentication service for sports and entertainment, delivering storage, NFC and NFT authentication, redemption and resale. Chiliz will soon open its ecosystem to a far wider audience with the launch of Chiliz Blockchain. Chiliz Blockchain will lead to greater adoption of blockchain tech across sports and entertainment with brands invited to build Fan Tokens, NFTs and other digital assets with all fees paid in Chiliz native token $CHZ. Chiliz has over 300 employees and regional headquarters in Miami, Madrid, Malta, London, Istanbul, Milan, São Paulo and Switzerland.
