Ryan Lackey is Chief Security Officer at Evertas Insurance, an insurance company dedicated to all things crypto and web3. He has been involved in payment systems since the 1990s, starting with blinded token systems and the Cypherpunks, created the world's first offshore datahaven (HavenCo) in the North Sea, and bootstrapped a defense contractor during the Iraq war. After starting a Y Combinator-funded secure virtualization startup and selling it to Cloudflare, he started creating secure infrastructure from 2016 onward in the cryptocurrency space, including serving on the council of a top-10 cryptocurrency foundation with security token and CBDC projects, CSO for several projects, and running staking and monitoring operations. He currently lives in San Juan, Puerto Rico and is an active investor and advisor in addition to his role at Evertas.
